This is our 41st year of service; located at the Great Park in Irvine; a member of the Feeding America network. At Second Harvest Food Bank, our vision is an Orange County with food and nutritional security for all. In collaboration with our partners, we provide dignified, equitable and consistent access to nutritious food, creating a foundation for community health. Our partner network includes houses of worship, schools, after-school programs, colleges and universities, senior centers, shelters for the unhoused, soup kitchens and transitional housing facilities, with sites at 310 locations throughout the county. We can’t do this without the help of volunteers, those hosting Virtual Food Drives, and/or donating.

Linda has been a volunteer for the Second Harvest Food Bank for over 25 years. Originally, she was part of a crew that sorted donated food on Saturday mornings (until COVID) - and has been an Ambassador since then. In 1997, was recognized for “Outstanding Volunteer Service”. In 2007, Linda was honored with a “Spirit of Volunteerism” Award, and in 2013, a Community Service Award. The majority of Linda’s career was in the high-tech industry. Her last corporate position was at Pacific Life … retired 3 years ago. Her goal was always to dedicate more time in support of Second Harvest, which brings her to us today.

About Me: I retired in 2023 from many years in high tech marketing and have volunteered at Second Harvest Food Bank most Saturdays for over 25 years. My goal was always to dedicate more time in support of their mission to end food insecurity.

My Why: After suffering multiple calamities when I was younger, I realized I could end up on the street, no matter how hard I worked to avoid such a misfortune — and it could happen to anyone! And NO ONE should go hungry!
