Overview
What do improv performers and effective leaders have in common? They both succeed without a script. In my engaging and effective presentations, you'll get a firsthand look at how the principles of applied improvisation--taking skills originally intended for the stage and translating them to the workplace--can level up your creativity, improve your communication skills, and build stronger teams that communicate and perform better.
You can expect a mix of short demonstrations, light (optional) participation , and practical takeaways you can use immediately. Along the way, you'll see how subtle shifts in mindset like building on ideas instead of blocking or actively listening to understand instead of waiting to respond can have a big impact on how people connect and lead.

Background
When I first started working in cybersecurity over 15 years ago, I felt I wasn't cut out for it. Plans shifted? I'd be unsure of what to do next. Client asked me something I couldn't answer? I'd freeze. But in 2014 I discovered improv comedy, and it changed my life. After just a few years on the improv stage, I noticed those insecurities falling away. I was building better rapport with clients, staying flexible when things went sideways, and people noticed. It wasn't until I took a minute to look back at what had changed that I realized improv had made me better at my job. It worked for me--and I am sure it can work for anyone.
