youth development, and workforce development, where she has excelled in strategic planning,
branding, marketing, fundraising, and logistics. Barnes' dedication to community service and her
ability to drive meaningful change have made her a respected leader in the nonprofit sector.
Barnes began her career in the nonprofit sector nearly 20 years ago, driven by a passion for giving
back and making a difference in the lives of others. Throughout her career, she has focused on
meeting community needs and improving the lives of individuals and families. Her strategic vision
and leadership have been instrumental in the success of various organizations across the
country.
For the past four years, Barnes has served as the President of Vital Link, a nonprofit
organization dedicated to providing career exploration and workforce development opportunities
for young people. Under her leadership, Vital Link has experienced significant growth and
success. Barnes' innovative approach and tireless efforts have resulted in a 43% increase in the
organization's income, enabling Vital Link to expand its reach and impact.
She is originally from Philadelphia and has lived in Long Beach for 17 years with her husband of 19
years and two rescue cats.
