Summary of the presentation:
Visit Rubuguri, Uganda and provide service to children in a community near the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
We came across the school while gorilla tracking in Uganda. After meeting students, teachers, and touring the campus with Father Nestorio Niwagaba, we knew that we could help St. Kizito’s, a school that serves approximately 550 students. It was easy to see some of the needs of the school including installing floors in classrooms, upgrading toilets, adding hand washing stations, collecting rainwater, building dormitories for girls and boys, adding solar power, and more.
As a Rotarian and past president of the Rotary Club of Tulare, I appreciate the work Rotarians are doing all over the world. It is a prideful sight to see the Rotary wheel all over the world and we can’t wait to see it in Rubuguri! We have initiated a Rotary Global Grant that will be submitted between July and September 2024.
We are promoting the opportunity to provide service in Uganda while visiting one of the most beautiful places in the world. We are looking for partners to meet the needs of the community while also meeting Rotary areas of focus (Water and Sanitation, Basic Education and Literacy). We welcome the opportunity to share our story with you! We will show pictures of the school and share our safari, chimpanzee, and gorilla tracking experiences in Uganda. We’ll present upcoming projects and invite you to join us in making a difference in a needy community with smiling faces.
